Key Account Manager (After Sales Support)

 Reports to: Product Manager


 Job Purpose

The account manager (After Sales Support) is tasked with maintaining cordial relationships with existing customers. Meetings, site visits and liaising with key role players is crucial to ensure after sales support and maintaining of a customer base. An account manager is instrumental in assuring focused and productive communication with the new and existing clients, external distributors, representatives and agents. An account manager resolves all complex inquiries from the clients and ensures customer satisfaction. An account manager is responsible for different kinds of administrative functions essential for everyday operation of the system and fulfilment of the company offers.


  • Maintaining a healthy relationship with existing customers.
  • Providing after sales and administrative support to your Product Manager and Head of Department.
  • Supporting the sales team in attaining sales targets.
  • Preparing proposals, sales reports, and presentations when required
  • Managing customer relationships as well as identifying and resolving their concerns.
  • Maintaining an efficient work environment.
  • Promoting the facilities of the organization to fresh and existing customers through a proactive approach.
  • Coordinating and responding to all requests of internal meetings.
  • Assisting with sales promotional events
  • Update knowledge of products being sold
  • Report to supervisor any complaints or problems carried over by clients and update customer complaint to the SAP system
  • Attend all sales meetings and training sessions
  • Check catalogues or computer databases to identify and locate required parts.
  • Stay abreast of mining product range
  • Any ad-hoc duties required by your superior



Articulate, well-spoken individual with a passion for dealing with people and gaining their confidence.


Personal Situation:

Mature and domestically secure. Able and willing to work extended hours on occasions when required. Must have driver’s license and valid passport. Hands on practical person, good fault finding skills, able to liaise with customers and utilize initiative effectively.


Computer skills:

Must be skilled in use of MS Office 2000 or later, particularly Excel and Word, MS Projects,  Internet and email and working knowledge of an Accounting package i.e. Pastel, SAP advantageous.


Literacy and Numeracy:

Engineering background, electronic engineering will be highly advantageous.


Business and Selling Skills:

Product knowledge within the auto electrical field needs to be learnt.
